SRC officers reveal 34 kg of smuggled medicines
YEREVAN, July 12. /ARKA/. Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) said the employees of its anti-smuggling department have prevented an attempt of smuggling 24 kg of various medicines into the country through the Bagratashen border checkpoint on the border with Georgia.
The SRC said the medicines were discovered in a car owned by a citizen of Armenia, who was identified as G.M., who entered the country from Georgia.
The smuggled medicines were hidden behind the dashboard, on the tailgate, under the rear pads and behind the gas tank. Paper boxes with various medicines with a total weight of 6.45 kg, as well as 38 items of medicines with a total weight of 28 kg, hidden from customs control, were discovered, it said. The SRC said an investigation will be opened into this case.-0-
