Slovakia donates 60,700 doses of Spikevax vaccine to Armenia

A batch of 60,700 doses of Spikevax Covid-19 vaccine manufactured by Moderna company and donated to Armenia by Slovakia within the framework of the EU's “Population Protection Mechanism” has arrived in Armenia, the Armenian Ministry of Health reported.

YEREVAN, November 9. /ARKA/. A batch of 60,700 doses of Spikevax Covid-19 vaccine manufactured by Moderna company and donated to Armenia by Slovakia within the framework of the EU's “Population Protection Mechanism” has arrived in Armenia, the Armenian Ministry of Health reported.

It said the vaccine is used to vaccinate against COVID-19 persons over 12 years of age. In Armenia, vaccinations are free and available at any clinic in the country 7 days a week for people over 18 years old, including foreigners.

The following vaccines are available: CoronaVac and Sinopharm (China), AstraZeneka (Britain, Sweden), Sputnik V (Russia) and Spikevax (USA).

Armenian health officials have recorded a total of 322,364 cases of Covid-19 as of Tuesday morning.

According to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 62 people have died from Covid-19 during the past 24 hours. The total tally of such deaths is now 6,762.

On July 9, the government of Armenia extended the coronavirus quarantine for another six months until December 20, 2021.

The nationwide quarantine was first imposed on September 11, 2020 replacing the state of emergency that was declared on March 16 to stop the spread of coronavirus. -0-
