Salaries of leading researchers in Armenia will significantly increase in 2024 and reach AMD 420 thousand, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan said on Wednesday.

YEREVAN, November 2. /ARKA/. Salaries of leading researchers in Armenia will significantly increase in 2024 and reach AMD 420 thousand, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan said on Wednesday.

"Compared to 2021 the salary rise will amount to 267%. Two years ago, a leading researcher received only 114,000 drams," Andreasyan said at the parliamentary hearings on the draft state budget for 2024.

The salaries of chief researches will also rise and amount to 500 thousand drams next year, up from 138,000 in 2021.

The minister also informed about plans to introduce a system of certification of scientific employees. This, according to her, will significantly improve their qualifications. -0-
