YEREVAN, November 18. /ARKA/. Residents of an apartment building in Yerevan that was partly damaged by an explosion caused by a natural gas leak were awarded today home buying certificates, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs reported.

One person was killed and two others were injured in the explosion of a four-story building on August 26, 2020.

According to the ministry, home buying certificates were awarded to 12 apartment owners. The amount of assistance was calculated on the basis of average market price of one square meter of housing, provided by the Cadastre Committee, which is 333,000 drams.

According to the government's decision, if the cost of a newly purchased apartment is lower than the amount provided for by the certificate, the balance remains with the beneficiary. If the cost of the purchased apartment exceeds the amount of assistance, then the beneficiary can  add money  or purchase an apartment through mortgage lending.

The required amount for certificates  was allocated from the Government Reserve Fund. The decision to award the certificates worth 182 million drams was made during a government meeting on September 17th.  ($1 - 493.75 drams). –0--
