Parking City Service to be donated to Yerevan municipality

Parking City Service, a private company overseeing paid parking areas (red-painted street sidelines) in the Armenian capital city will be donated to Yerevan Municipality that will manage its financial flows, a deputy Yerevan mayor Vahe Nikoyan, told reporters today after the end of talks between the municipality with this company and another company called Locator.
YEREVAN, November 16. / ARKA /. Parking City Service, a private company overseeing paid parking areas (red-painted street sidelines) in the Armenian capital city will be donated to Yerevan Municipality that will manage its financial flows, a deputy Yerevan mayor Vahe Nikoyan, told reporters today after the end of talks between the municipality with this company and another company called Locator.
He said the Yerevan Municipality has agreed to take hold of one hundred percent shares of JSC Parking City Service on condition that at the time of acquisition the company’s assets will exceed its liabilities, or will be equal to them. He said this should be clearly fixed by a reputable foreign audit firm. Nikoyan said the Parking City Service will be handed to Locator’s trust management.
"As a result all the equipment necessary for the organization of paid parking services in the capital city will become the property of Yerevan communities. The company will have to repay the loans it had obtained earlier,’ Nikoyan said.
In his words, during the repayment period the company will be transferring to Yerevan budget by 100 million drams more and after the repayment – by 400 million drams more a year. At the same time he said no drop in prices for paid parking is planned.
"As for the penalties, we use them as a preventive measure rather than a source of income,’ Nikoyan said. -0-
