Over 13,000 people died in Armenia in six months, marking a 0.4% decline
YEREVAN, August 6. /ARKA/. From January to June of 2025, 13,012 people died in Armenia, which is 0.4% fewer than in the same period of 2024б еру National Statistical Committee reported.
More than half of those who died (52%, or 6,768 people) died due to circulatory system diseases, which is a 4.4% decrease from the same period in 2024.
Neoplasms were the second leading cause of death, claiming 19.1% (2,484) of lives, a decline of 2.5%.
Other causes of death included respiratory diseases (10.7%, or 1,392 people; an 8.6% increase), digestive diseases (4.9%, or 637 people; a 6.9% increase), accidents, poisonings, and injuries (3.4%, or 436 people; a 11.2% decrease), endocrine diseases (2.1%, or 279 people; a 15.3% increase), and infectious diseases (1.2%, or 156 people; a 60.8% increase).-0-
