YEREVAN, November 27. /ARKA/. The Yerevan Municipality will announce a tender for the design of one more metro (subway) station, which will be located near the Surmalu wholesale and retail trade center.

Mayor Tigran Avinyan approved today a project to prepare the design of the new station and calculate the construction cost. The mayor said, however, that at the moment no financial means are envisaged for the construction of Surmalu station. This issue will be concretized in 2024, he said.

The Yerevan Metro launched in 1981 runs on a 13.4 kilometer line and currently serves 10 active stations. The Municipality plans to kick off the construction of Achapnyak station next year. The total cost of construction of Achapnyak subway station is tentatively estimated at about $50 million. --0--
