Novosti-Armenia's Experts Club holds first meeting

The maiden meeting of the Experts Club of Novosti-Armenia international news agency held on Friday in Yerevan was devoted to a meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents in Switzerland’s capital city Bern on December 19.
YEREVAN, December 18. /ARKA/. The maiden meeting of the Experts Club of Novosti-Armenia international news agency held on Friday in Yerevan was devoted to a meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents in Switzerland’s capital city Bern on December 19.
Sergey Minasyan, head of Political Studies Department at Yerevan-based Caucasus Institute, described the creation of the Experts Club as a very important event.
Director of the Armenian branch of the CIS Institute, political scientist Alexander Markarov, in turn, expressed confidence that the Experts Club will develop 'into a serious analytical platform.'
Director of ARKA news agency, chairman of Novosti-Armenia Board, Konstantin Petrosov, stressed that the Experts Club is created, among other things, ‘to meet the needs of the Armenian media field.'
"The main thing for any media is an opportunity to obtain prompt comments from experts. This is one of the reasons we have created the Experts Club and we assume that it will act to meet the needs of our colleagues,' he added.
The aim of the club is to use the Novosti-Armenia platform (newsarmenia.am) to discuss the most important issues relating to political, economic and social agendas of Armenia.
