The Armenian government has decided today to merge the Vazgen Sargsyan Military University and the Marshal Khanferyants Aviation University into Military Academy.

YEREVAN, June 8. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has decided today to merge the Vazgen Sargsyan Military University and the Marshal Khanferyants Aviation University into Military Academy. The new academy will be named after Vazgen Sargsyan.

The government says the decision is prompted by a decline in the number of applicants in recent years, as well as by higher demand for certain military specialties. It said the merger will allow to streamline their management and funding.

The merger will also make it possible to modernize training facilities and the existing training base at lower cost.

The government believes that the merger will create opportunities to introduce a new culture of management of military-educational institutions in accordance with international standards. --0--
