House arrest to be introduced in Armenia as restraining measure
YEREVAN, March 23. /ARKA/. A new restraining measure - house arrest - will be introduced in Armenia from January 1, 2023, Deputy Justice Minister Arpine Sargsyan said today when addressing the parliament.
The deputy minister said the winner of a tender announced earlier by the Ministry to choose a contractor for supply of the necessary infrastructure is already known.
She said the ministry plans to purchase 200 electronic bracelets, 150 devices for home surveillance, as well as software and servers.
The Armenian parliament adopted earlier a set of amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code, providing for a number of significant changes in the judicial system. One of the changes envisages an expansion of the range of restraining measures by introducing house arrest and administrative control. --0--
