Heat waves of up to 35 degrees Celsius expected in Armenia
YEREVAN, June 16. /ARKA/. The Armenian National Weather Service said today that short showers and thunderstorms are expected on June 17-18 in most regions of the country, and in some parts on June 16 and 19-20. It said hailstorms are possible on June 16-20.
The westward winds will be blowing with gusts up to 3-6 m/s. The winds may increase to 15-20 m/s during thunderstorms. The temperatures will rise gradually by 2-5 degrees on June 16-17.
Thundershowers are expected periodically at different times of the day in Yerevan in the next five days. On Friday afternoon, the temperature in the capital will rise to 28-30 degrees Celsius and by 1-2 degrees more in the next 3 days.
The highest temperatures are expected on Sunday afternoon in Syunik and Artsakh valleys- up to 35 degrees. In Ararat and Vayots Dzor foothills the temperatures are expected to reach up to 32 degrees, up to 31 degrees in Tavush, and up to 30 degrees in Armavir. -0-
