YEREVAN, June 9. /ARKA/. Some 500,000 people in Armenia, whose population is 3 million are undernourished, according to the UN World Food Program's Hunger Map.
The number of people suffering from malnutrition has increased by 70,000 over the past month.
According to the map, about 4.4 percent of children under the age of 5 in the country suffer from acute malnutrition and 9.4 percent suffer from chronic malnutrition.
According to the World Bank, Armenia recorded a 7% increase in poverty in 2021. In 2020, it was 27%. -0-
