YEREVAN, February 25. /ARKA/. A batch of 35,000 doses of Moderna coronavirus vaccine, donated by the Greek government, has been delivered to Armenia, the Armenian Ministry of Health reported.

The donation was made within the framework of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and the Europe Team initiative.

The Covid-19 vaccination campaign in Armenia started on April 13, 2021. Vaccination is free and is available at any polyclinic and mobile vaccination points in the country 7 days a week to both Armenian citizens and foreigners.

According to the Ministry of Health, about 40% of the adult population (905,624 people) of the country have been vaccinated against coronavirus; some 47.9% (1,080,415 people) have received the first dose, and 20,169 citizens have received the third, booster vaccine.

In Armenia, 6 types of Covid-19 vaccines are used now- CoronaVac and Sinopharm (China), AstraZeneca (Britain, Sweden), Sputnik V (Russia), Pfizer and Spikevax (Moderna, USA). Vaccinations are free for people over 18 years old, including foreigners.

On November 11, the government of Armenia extended the coronavirus quarantine until June 20, 2022.

The nationwide quarantine was first imposed on September 11, 2020 replacing the state of emergency that was declared on March 16 to stop the spread of coronavirus. -0
