Government turns down opposition bloc’s proposal
YEREVAN, February 8. /ARKA/. The Armenian government turned down today a legislative initiative proposed by the parliamentary faction of the opposition "Yelk" bloc calling for exempting servicemen from payment of property tax.

Finance Minister Vardan Aramyan argued that the servicemen are solvent, and besides are not deprived of the opportunity to use their property and receive income from it.

He said the proposal offered to extend the benefits not only to conscripts, but also to other persons who are in military service, as well as to those who are having compulsory military service in the territories of other states. -0-
