YEREVAN, January 15. /ARKA/. Some 46 cases of food, alcohol and natural gas poisoning have been reported in Armenia from January 1 to January 15, the country’s chief toxicologist Mikael Gabrielyan revealed today, saying that the number was up from 31 such cases reported for the same time span of 2017.
Speaking at a news conference he said 21 cases were alcohol intoxication, followed by natural gas poisoning.
He explained that alcohol poisoning cases were not caused by law quality alcoholic beverages.
"Cases of alcohol poisoning are not caused by low quality drinks. There is practically no low quality alcohol in Armenia. The bulk of alcohol poisonings were caused by large amounts of alcohol consumed, mainly by people from socially disadvantaged groups," Gabrielyan said. -0-
