First-graders in Armenia will be instructed using new primers - minister
YEREVAN, August 27. /ARKA/. From September 1, first-graders in Armenia will begin their education with new primers, stated Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan.
"This year marks the implementation of new criteria for grades 1-11, along with the introduction of new textbooks," she announced during a press conference on Wednesday.
The minister highlighted that over 220 different textbooks have been published in the last three years, which comprehensively cover the essential subjects of school education.
"There are still several subjects that rely on outdated textbooks, particularly for grades 10-11. Specifically, this includes chemistry, biology, the Russian language, and algebra, which is only available in grade 11. We are also undertaking separate initiatives for teaching French, collaborating with the embassy, as French is not offered in all schools, and there is an issue with outdated textbooks," Andreasyan explained.
She assured that all necessary textbooks for the educational process have been provided to schools.
"Currently, the distribution of textbooks to schools is largely complete, with four regions of the country set to finish distribution by August 28. As of September 1, we will be fully prepared to conduct the educational process at the appropriate level," Andreasyan stated.-0-
