Extreme heat waves in Armenia to recede a little
YEREVAN, July 18, /ARKA/. Armenia's entire territory will be affected by severe heat waves coming from the Arabian Peninsula for several days more with temperatures in the Ararat Valley, in Vayots Dzor province and the capital Yerevan expected to be ranging from 39-42C on July 17-21, the National Weather Service said.
According to it, the ultraviolet radiation is expected to be higher than normal. The recommendation for citizens is to avoid staying outside from 11:00 to 17:00. No rains are forecast on July 18-22 across the country.
The southeastern winds will be blowing with gusts of 2-5 meters per second. The winds may speed up to 13-15 meters per second in the evening hours in Armavir, as well as in the foothills of Kotayk and Aragatsotn.
The temperature in Yerevan on Monday afternoon will rise to 39-41 degrees and will continue till Wednesday. It is expected to fall to 37-39 degrees on Thursday and to 35-37 degrees on Friday. The temperature drop by a few degrees during these days is also expected in the regions. -0-
