YEREVAN, September 13. /ARKA/. There are dozens of school teachers in Armenia whose salaries have grown to 400 thousand drams a month and more, Education, Science, Culture and Sports Minister Zhanna Andreasyan said today.

According to her, there is a teacher who receives up to 530 thousand drams. "At the moment, we have 1,562 teachers, whose salaries have increased as a result of certification," Andreasyan said in parliament.

According to her, more than 1300 teachers do not have higher education and if they fail the certification, they will be sacked.

At the same time Andreasyan added that a new stage of teachers' certification will start on September 23, and 6,600 applications have already been submitted to the ministry.

Earlier, the minister said that starting from September this year, the salaries of physics, chemistry, biology, geography and computer science teachers, as well as teachers of all subjects in rural schools will be raised. -0-
