Dilijan Art Park named a finalist at World Architecture Festival Awards 2026
YEREVAN, August 25. /ARKA/. Green Rock’s Art Park, a future public, cultural and recreational space in Dilijan designed by international architecture bureau Wowhaus, has been named a finalist in the Future Projects – Leisure Led Development category at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) 2026 Awards, one of the world’s leading architecture awards programmes.
The future public, cultural and recreational space is part of Green Rock’s Multifunctional Complex in Dilijan. The complex also includes Armenia’s first Hyatt Regency hotel, a Music Hall, PPLS Rooms co-living, Villa3 Community Hub, Cabinet Café-Restaurant and Apicius Armenia International School of Hospitality. The architectural concept of Art Park was developed by international architecture studio Wowhaus.
The park’s programme will combine several types of public space:
A central square for concerts, exhibitions, festivals, fairs and community events
An art residency with open studios and workshop spaces for artists and musicians
An outdoor amphitheatre connected to the Music Hall
A children’s area designed as a large-scale art object
Outdoor spaces for sports, yoga and meditation
Permanent and temporary installations by Armenian and international artists.
Art Park will cover 5.72 hectares. Its different areas will be connected by three thematic routes: a cultural and educational route, an ecological route and a sports route, complemented by a cycling trail. Viewing platforms, rest areas, lightweight bridges and elevated paths will be carefully integrated into the existing landscape.
The concept builds on Dilijan’s history as a place of attraction for writers, artists, musicians and composers. The park’s lightweight pavilions reinterpret elements of local architecture, including Dilijan’s traditional balconies. Wood and Armenian volcanic tuff will connect the new structures with their natural and architectural surroundings.
World Architecture Festival hosts the world’s largest live-judged architecture awards programme and brings together leading architects and designers from around the world. Its 2026 jury includes Peter Cook, founder of Peter Cook Studio; Kai-Uwe Bergmann, partner at BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group; Olga Bolshanina, senior partner at Herzog & de Meuron; and Chilean architect Cazú Zegers.
The 2026 event will mark the festival’s 19th edition, following previous editions in Miami, Singapore, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Berlin.
