YEREVAN, August 26. /ARКА/. Starting September 1, 2025, driver's licenses in Armenia will transition to a digital format, as announced by Deputy Interior Minister Armen Ghazaryan.

"A majority of our drivers already have user accounts on the roadpolice.am website. The new regulations will take effect on September 1. Once a driver verifies their identity and logs into the system, they will be able to access their digital driver's license," Ghazaryan explained.

The deputy minister pointed out that the Code of Administrative Offenses includes a specific article regarding the lack of a driver's license and other necessary documents while driving, which can result in an administrative fine.

"However, if the required documents are presented on the same day, the fine will be waived. In cases where a digital driver's license is available, this rule will not be applicable to that individual," Ghazaryan added.-0-
