Construction of a new waste landfill in Yerevan worth 5 billion drams will start in 2021, Deputy Mayor of Yerevan for Financial Affairs Sergey Nersisyan said during parliamentary hearings on the draft state budget for 2021.

YEREVAN, November 6. /ARKA/. Construction of a new waste landfill in Yerevan worth 5 billion drams will start in 2021, Deputy Mayor of Yerevan for Financial Affairs Sergey Nersisyan said during parliamentary hearings on the draft state budget for 2021.

According to him, the funds will be provided in the form of loans and grants from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank and within the framework of the EU Eastern Partnership program.

"Within the framework of the program, design and construction work will be carried out to conserve two existing landfills in Nubarashen and Ajapnyak, as well as design and build a new urban landfill according to European standards," Nersisyan said.

The construction of a new landfill in Yerevan is to be built in the vicinity of the existing Nubarashen landfill. ($1 - 493.87 drams). –0—
