The birth rate in Armenia was down 6.4% from January to June of 2025 when compared to the same period in 2024, according the National Statistical Committee (NSC).

YEREVAN, August 6. /ARKA/. The birth rate in Armenia was down 6.4% from January to June of 2025 when compared to the same period in 2024, according the National Statistical Committee (NSC).

The decline in the birth rate has been recorded in Armenia since January of last year. During the reporting period, 14,609 babies were born, compared to 15,616 newborns in the first half of 2024.

During the same period, there were 197 stillbirths, which is a 14% drop from the same period in 2024.

A total of 13,012 people died in Armenia during the first half of 2025, a 0.4% decrease from the same period in 2024. The natural population growth was 1,597, which is 37.3% less than last year. -0-
