The average gross salary in Armenia in August 2019 increased by 4%, compared to August 2018, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) reported.

YEREVAN, September 25. /ARKA/. The average gross salary in Armenia in August 2019 increased by 4%, compared to August 2018, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) reported. It said in May 2019 this indicator was higher by 6.5% year-on-year, in June - by 6.2% and in July - by 8.0% respectively .

Compared with July 2019, the average salary in August decreased by 3.4%. As a result, in January-August 2019, the average salary increased by 5.7% compared to January-August 2018.

The average gross salary in the public sector in August 2019, when compared to August 2018, increased by 5.9%, but compared with July 2019, it dropped by 12.2%. In January-August 2019, the average salary increased by 5.7% compared to January-August 2018 amounting to 154 608 drams.

In the private sector, the average salary in August 2019, when compared to August 2018, increased by 2.6%, and dropped by 0.5% compared with July. Thus, In January-August 2019, the average salary in the private sector increased by 3.9% compared to January-August 2018 amounting to 191,006 drams.

As of September 1, 2019, the gross average salary stood at 178, 659 drams. ($1 - 476.07 dram). -- 0
