YEREVAN, December 24. /ARKA Robert Sahakyants Production studio is working on a new full-length animated film called Olympikos,  the head of the studio, director David Sahakyants told a news conference today.

The animated film tells the story of Armenian king Varazdat, the last known recorded Ancient Olympic victor who won the boxing event at the 291st Olympiad (in 385 A.D.).

According to David Sahakyants,  the film will be completely ready in three years. "What remains to be done is  the music and the sound,"  he said.

Armenian historians describe king Varazdat as a strong man who became champion of the 291st  Olympics Games  in 385 AD in fisticuffs.  Varazdat is the second recorded Armenian to participate in the Olympic Games, while the first was his ancestor Tiridates III of Armenia, before he served in his Armenian kingship.

Varazdat’s victory is also known from a surviving memorandum which is now kept at the Olympic Museum in Olympia, Greece. -0-
