Armenian regulator revises drinking water price for households

YEREVAN, November 29. /ARKA/. Armenia's Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) has revised today drinking water price, set for households, cutting it to 205.9 drams per one cubic meter, down from 208.4 drams, requested by the national operator Veolia Jur.

The current price of 180 drams, set for disadvantaged population will not chnage. Despite this cut, the households will continue paying AMD 200.47 per cubic meter as before (from January 1, 2023) because the difference will again be subsidized by the government. The PSRC's decision will come into effect from January 1, 2024.

On March 16, 2023, the government made a decision to provide subsidies to Veolia Jur CJSC to mitigate an increase in the price for drinking water supply and waste water disposal services, effective from January 1 and valid until November 30, 2023.

Veolia Jur cjsc is a subsidiary of the French Veolia Generale des Eaux, which manages Armenia’s water distribution network. --0--
