Armenian parliament allows legalization of illegal constructions
YEREVAN, January 20. /ARKA/. Armenia's National Assembly has passed today in the second and final reading a set of amendments to the law on cadastral valuation of real estate and the Land Code, which provide for the extension of the deadline for legalizing illegal buildings and constructions or unregistered land until December 31, 2021 at the old cadastral value.
Deputy head of the Cadastre Committee Arman Petrosyan recalled that new cadastral rates for real estate, close to the market prices, came into force on January 1, 2021, which are several times higher than the previous ones.
“There are citizens who have purchased land plots subject to subsequent payment, and before completion of the process, they must pay at the cadastral value effective at the time of purchase. There are people who have not been able to make payments and were planning to pay this year. To exclude additional financial burden for them, we give them the opportunity to submit applications and pay at the old cadastral value,” Petrosyan said.
According to him, within the framework of this decision, an opportunity is also provided to legalize illegal buildings and constructions, but applications will have to be submitted before the end of January. -0-
