Armenian government sets rules for contract military personnel certification
YEREVAN, Feb. 9. /ARKA/. The Armenian government at a meeting on Thursday set the rules for contract military personnel certification.
According to Defense Minister Suren Papikyan, the certification will be conducted by ten specialized commissions at five centers.
The certification includes testing of specialized knowledge and service duties through test tasks, testing of physical condition and shooting skills.
The test task will consist of 50 questions, requiring correct answers to at least 35 of them and a rating of "good" for physical fitness, shooting skills and combat training.
The minister also said that the wages of servicemen will be raised based on the results of the certification. Particularly, for the privates it will be double the maximum size of the current payment, that is, about 422,000 drams (almost $1,100) when on active duty.
In his turn, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the requirements to the military staff should be toughened. He added that about AMD 20-25 thousand of the increased part of the salary will be paid as health insurance. --0--
