Armenian citizens to have protracted weekend
YEREVAN, October 10. /ARKA/. The government of Armenia has decided today to make October 11 and 12 non-working days. The decision is prompted by the 17th Francophone Summit to be hosted on these days by Armenian capital Yerevan.

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan suggested that October 20 and 27, which are Saturday, be working days instead. However, the First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said a set of elections to local government bodies are slated for October 21 suggesting that October 27 and November 3 be working days.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in connection with the Francophone Summit many downtown streets will be closed for traffic. He recommended that the residents of the capital use the underground railway, public transport or simply walk.

Yerevan has already hosted the 105th session of the Permanent Council of the International Organization of Francophone and the 35th Session of the Ministers. The summit will be held on October 11 and 12. The culmination of the Days of Francophone in Armenia will be a gala concert in Republic Square on October 12. -0-
