On March 23 evening Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a live Facebook broadcast that his government will introduce new restrictions, including on economic activity in a number of areas, due to the situation with coronavirus.
Avinyan explained that in the next seven days only services and convenience stores, as well as pharmacies, should work and operate.
"I would also like to inform you that, in general, the measures that we used before this stage were effective, and the transition to a more stringent seven-day regime is aimed at continuing to monitor and develop tools that will allow us to detect and prevent infection chains," he said.
According to Avinyan, restrictions on the movement of citizens will be announced too
“For seven days we should try to observe the regime of self-isolation if possible. It is for this reason, after the publication of the resticted activities, , we will introduce new mechanisms that will allow us to limit the movement of citizens as much as possible. We will appeal to our citizens to remain in self-isolation so that we have time to modernize our instruments and continue the effective fight against coronavirus, "he said.
