The number of officially registered unemployed people in Armenia in 2017 stood at 218,900, down from 220,200 people in 2016, according to numbers, released today by the National Statistical Service (NSS).
YEREVAN, March 30. /ARKA/. The number of officially registered unemployed people in Armenia in 2017 stood at 218,900, down from 220,200 people in 2016, according to numbers, released today by the National Statistical Service (NSS). Of that number some 116,700 were jobless males and 102,200 were jobless women.
Labor resources in 2017 stood at 2,021.4 million people (an increase of 0.49% from the previous year), while the economically active population stood at 1.230.8 million (an increase of 0.36%). Thus, the unemployment rate in the country was 17.7%. In urban areas it was 25.1%, and in rural communities - 7.7%. -0-
