As of October 1, 2023 Armenia’s permanent population stood at 2, 993,800 people, up from 2, 970,600 a year ago, according to the numbers, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSC).

YEREVAN, November 6. /ARKA/. As of October 1, 2023 Armenia’s permanent population stood at 2, 993,800 people, up from 2, 970,600 a year ago, according to the numbers, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSC).

The urban population stood at 1, 908,400, with 1,103,100 people in the capital city Yerevan. In rural areas the population stood at 1,085,400 people.

The natural increase of population in the first 9 months of the current year amounted to 48.5% against 29.5% in January-September of the last year.

The latest population census in the country was conducted in 2011.-0-
