Armenia’s next population census slated for 2020

The government of Armenia at a meeting on Wednesday decided to hold a regular population census on October 18-27, 2020.
YEREVAN, October 10. /ARKA/. The government of Armenia at a meeting on Wednesday decided to hold a regular population census on October 18-27, 2020. It will be preceded by a pilot census in 2019. The pilot census will be held on October 3-12, 2019 in the several communities in Shirak and Kotayk provinces.
During the pilot census, the government will test a new methodology, procedures, information collection, automatic data processing programs and other population census technologies.
The latest population census was held in Armenia in 2011, which found out that the country’s estimated resident population stood at 2,871,771 people, while the permanent population stood at 3,018,854 people. --0--
