YEREVAN, July 21. /ARKA/. Families of another 153 soldiers killed in the 2020 autumn war in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone have become beneficiaries of the Military Insurance Fund. Now, the total number of such beneficiaries is 4,177.

The Military Insurance Fund was created to ensure social welfare, stable and various insurance compensations for servicemen and families of servicemen, who died, went missing or were disabled during the defense of the country.

According to the law, every working Armenian contributes part of their salary to the Fund.

Of the total number of beneficiaries of the Fund, 416 people became such before the war of 2020. The list of beneficiaries is available at bit.ly/38p9RIN.

According to official figures, at least 3,700 other Armenian soldiers and civilians were killed during the six-week war and 268 are considered missing.

To replenish the fund's resources, the Arevagorg (Sunny Carpet) campaign is running in the lobby of the Marriott Hotel in Yerevan. Anyone can tie their own "knot" on the carpet by making a donation to the Fund. A symbolic carpet from a series of carpets from the Jraberd district of Artsakh can also be woven online at https://megerian.1000plus.am/.

On September 27, 2020, Azerbaijani armed forces, backed by Turkey and foreign mercenaries and terrorists, attacked Nagorno-Karabakh along the entire front line using rocket and artillery weapons, heavy armored vehicles, military aircraft and prohibited types of weapons such as cluster bombs and  phosphorus weapons.

After 44 days of the war, on November 9, the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a statement on the cessation of all hostilities. According to the document, the town of Shushi, the districts of Agdam, Kelbajar and Lachin were handed over to Azerbaijan, with the exception of a 5-kilometer corridor connecting Karabakh with Armenia.
A Russian peacekeeping contingent was deployed along the contact line in Karabakh and along the Lachin corridor. -0
