Armenia's Covid-19 death toll stands at 2,850
YEREVAN, January 3. /ARKA/. The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus (Covid-19) in Armenia has reached 160,027 as of today morning, the Ministry of Health said on Facebook.
The number of new cases has grown by 229 over the past 24 hours and another 14 people have died from Covid-19.
According to the ministry, 451 patients have recovered during that time span and 1,088 people have been tested for the infection. One person with confirmed coronavirus died of another cause. The total number of such cases stands now at 688.
In total, 597,504 coronavirus tests have been performed in the country since March 1, 2020, when the first case of coronavirus was detected. The country's Covid-19 death toll is now 2, 850.
Overall, some 144,091 patients have recovered and another 12,398 are receiving currently treatment. Armenia's population is a little less than 3 million.
On September 11, the Armenian government replaced the state of emergency, declared on March 16 to stop the spread of coronavirus, with nationwide quarantine regime that will be in force until January 11, 2021. -0-
