Armenia reports increased number of Covid-19 infections
YEREVAN, August 29. /ARKA/. Armenian health authorities recorded 2,124 new cases of coronavirus from August 22 to 28, up from 1,913 cases recorded a week earlier, the Ministry of Health said today.
It said the number of active cases of Covid-19 stands now at 2,745. During the reporting week, some 6,131 PCR tests were performed.
According to the Ministry of Health, 1,788 people recovered during the period, 7 died (5 people died during the previous week). Some 434,398 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the country during the entire pandemic period with some 421,316 of those infected having recovered. The death toll from the infection stands now at 8,655 people.
A total of 3,184,464 coronavirus tests have been done in the country. The health authorities have also administered until now 2,243,265 doses of Covid-19 vaccines. Some 1,145,553 people received the first dose of the vaccine, 1,022,051 people received the second dose, and 70,505 people received the booster dose. -0-
