YEREVAN, September 12. /ARKA/. The National Assembly of Armenia approved the agreement between the governments of the Republic of Armenia and Kazakhstan regarding cooperation in the area of migration during its session on Thursday.

As noted by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Ghazaryan, the agreement was signed on April 15, 2024.

"The agreement establishes the creation of swift and effective procedures based on reciprocity for managing migration processes, aiming to establish a legal framework for bilateral cooperation. The parties will work together in the exchange of information, statistical data, and legal and scientific-methodical information.

The agreement includes the exchange of information concerning citizens of the parties residing in the territory of the other party, the sharing of experiences, and the provision of practical assistance on matters arising during the cooperation process," Ghazaryan remarked.

It also ensures the protection of the rights of citizens of the parties, including their family members, to reside during the validity period of the issued residence permit, as well as addressing issues related to the legal status of individuals legally residing in the territories of the parties.

The aforementioned regulations will be implemented in accordance with the domestic laws of the parties and their international obligations.-0-
