Accident at major water pipeline affects households in two districts of Yerevan
YEREVAN, March 11. /ARKA/. A major accident that occurred at Arzni 2-Yerevan main water pipeline the night before has affected about 25% of households and enterprises in Kentron and Arabkir administrative districts of Yerevan.
The accident was caused by a rock fall in the Hrazdan River Gorge that damaged the water pipeline. The French-owned national water distributing company Veolia Jur said its employees have working since night to fix the problem.
According to it, the elimination of the consequences will last several days. This means that the schedule of water supply to the settlements fed from this water pipeline will be carried out with interruptions.
"Our specialists are working out a mechanism of correct distribution of the volume of water supplied to Yerevan in order to mitigate the problem as much as possible," the company assured. -0--
