About 2,000 subvention projects implemented in Armenia in 2018-2019

Some 1,190 subvention projects were implemented in Armenia in 2018-2021, Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan said, when speaking at a meeting of an interagency commission set up for evaluating communities’ applications for subsidies, which are used to improve their economic and social infrastructure.

YEREVAN, January 11. /ARKA/. Some 1,190 subvention projects were implemented in Armenia in 2018-2021, Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan said, when speaking at a meeting of an interagency commission set up for evaluating communities’ applications for subsidies, which are used to improve their economic and social infrastructure.

Matevosyan did not specify the total cost of these subvention projects. According to him, the subvention projects co-financed by the government in 2021 were aimed at the rehabilitation and repair of streets, kindergartens, and installation of street lighting, repair of drinking water supply and drainage systems, and connecting settlements to the natural gas network.

Matevosyan said also the government plans to increase its co-financing share in the construction and repair of kindergartens to 80%.

It was also proposed to separately fix the amount of co-financing for the borderline settlements and specify their priorities.

Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan said that after the completion of each project monitoring must be conducted to reveal the problems and way for their solution. -0-
