A 42-degree heat wave to hit Yerevan due to abrupt climate change
YEREVAN, August 7. /ARKA/. Although all scientific studies indicated that no strong heat was expected in Armenia in August, a sharp changes in atmospheric circulation will bring a powerful heat wave from the Arabian Peninsula, the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center reported.
It said the heat wave is expected to penetrate Armenia on August 10 and raise the temperatures sharply by 4-6 degrees compared to today.
On August 10-13 afternoon temperatures in the Ararat Valley and in the capital Yerevan are expected to surge to 40-42 degrees Celsius.
The Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center warned of high wildfire danger on August 10-13 in Yerevan, Ararat Valley, Aragatsotn, Kotayk and Vayots Dzor provinces, as well as in Syunik and Tavush valleys. -0-
