Yerevan says ready for Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting in Brussels
YEREVAN, October 20. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is ready to travel to Brussels for talks with Azerbaijani President Aliyev, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan told reporters today.
Aliyev and Pashinyan were expected to meet earlier this month in Granada (Spain) for talks on the sidelines of a European Community Summit. EU, French and German leaders were also to participate in that meeting, however, Aliyev refused to travel to Granada.
Kostanyan recalled that PM Pashinyan had already announced his readiness to visit Brussels. According to him, Armenian wants to normalize relations with its neighbor in such a way that the agreements reached are implemented and the partners guarantee that the Azerbaijani side will not violate them.
Earlier, the head of the European Council Charles Michel said that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President agreed to meet in Brussels at the end of October (the exact date was not specified).
In a telephone call with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev ahead of the Granada summit Charles Michel said that Azerbaijan "cannot have territorial claims against Armenia’ and demanded that Aliyev guarantee mutual recognition by Baku and Yerevan of their territorial integrity.--0--
