YEREVAN, December 15. /ARKA/. The U.S. welcomes Turkey’s productive role in resolving the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, spokesman for the State Department Mathew Miller told a press briefing on Thursday when asked how the U.S. saw Turkey as a force for peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Miller's remarks came after Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan said in Baku that same day that Turkey encouraged peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He also said that peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia will have a positive effect on normalization between Turkey and Armenia.

'We agree with what the foreign minister said ,' Miler said. He added: that this issue is discussed in all conversations between Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Fidan. This is a topic that they regularly discuss when they either get together in person or when they talk on the phone.'-0-
