Three persons have an ambition to become the head of the Control Chamber of Armenia, Haykakan Zhamanak (Armenian Time) reported on Friday.
YEREVAN, February 10. /ARKA/. Three persons have an ambition to become the head of the Control Chamber of Armenia, Haykakan Zhamanak (Armenian Time) reported on Friday.
Hermine Naghdalyan, vice-speaker of the National Assembly, said yesterday that Control Chamber Chairman Ishkhan Zakaryan has submitted his resignation to Galust Sahakyan, the parliament speaker.
If Zakaryan will not withdraw his resignation within 15 days, it will be accepted.
Meanwhile, the race for this seat has already begun. It became known yet a few weeks earlier that Ishkhan Zakaryan might resign, since he would spearhead Tsarukyan alliance’s election campaign.
According to the newspaper, three likely candidates for this position are being discussed now.
One of them is Ara Nranyan, candidate from Armenian Revolutionary Federation /Dashnaktsutiun Party, who is now the Control Chamber deputy chairman.
The authors of the publication asked Armen Rustamyan, a member of the party faction in the National Assembly, to give them comments, but he were rebuffed immediately.
The paper points out Seyran Avagyan, a member of the Control Chamber, and Levon Yolyan, a former member of the Control Chamber and former energy minister, as Nranyan’s rivals. --0---
