YEREVAN, January 8. /ARKA/. Several thousand tons of fuel are being shipped from Azerbaijan to Armenia and will reach the country in the coming days, said Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan.

On January 7, Azerbaijani media reported that Baku would send another batch of petroleum products to Armenia on January 8: 1,000 tons of A92 gasoline, 1,000 tons of diesel fuel, and 1,800 tons of A95 gasoline.

"The news is that we are receiving not only Premium gasoline, but also Regular and diesel, and, according to preliminary estimates, the price will be significantly lower than the market price – up to 80 drams," he told reporters.

The minister noted that this should not be a surprise, adding that there will also be a third, fifth, and fifteenth shipment.

"Frankly, I won't be involved in this process anymore because it's already on track," he said.

According to Papoyan, the procurement mechanism followed the same logic as the first time.

He noted that the first batch of fuel was sold within a few days, adding that this indicates that "the demand for this gasoline is very high."

The first batch of petroleum products was imported into Armenia from Azerbaijan on December 19: a train carrying 1,218 tons of A-95 gasoline arrived at the Ayrum railway station via Georgia.
