Tehran does not view Armenia's development of relations with some countries as an action against Iran, says ambassador
YEREVAN, July 18. /ARKA/. Tehran does not view Armenia's development of relations with a number of countries as an action against Iran, said Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani in an interview with the Armenian Public Television.
“It is Armenia's right to diversify its relations with various countries,” he said, responding to a question about Armenia's political and economic rapprochement with the EU.
According to the ambassador, Armenia is trying in various ways to diversify its relations for the benefit of its people.
“Armenia is an independent country; we cannot dictate it whether or not to have relations with a particular country,” Sobhani said, adding that the development of Armenia's foreign relations will also help in its relations with Iran. -0-
