YEREVAN, January 13. /ARKA/. The Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) conflict has been placed in the third group of conflicts, according to a 2023 study by the Council on Foreign Relations, a leading U.S. think tank.

This means that the probability of renewed fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan is average and the significance for the U.S. is low. Conflicts in Yemen, Libya, Somalia, the confrontation between Turkey and the Kurds in Syria and Iraq, and the clash in Kashmir are also in this group.

The conflicts of Taiwan, Ukraine, Russia, North Korea, Israel-Iran and political and economic instability in Central America and Mexico are at the top of the U.S. priorities.

The study prioritizes major conflicts based on U.S. interests. The risk assessment matrix is based on the criteria of "importance to U.S. interests" and the degree of likelihood of conflict. -0-
