YEREVAN, June 20. /ARKA/. Shots were fired near a polling station in one of the villages of the Ararat region of Armenia, the Armenian Police reported.

According to the Police, the shots near the polling station in the village of Azatashen were reported to the Masis police department at 8.30 am.

A police squad that arrived at the scene found out that a dispute had occurred outside the polling station between representatives of two political parties - the Prosperous Armenia party and Verelk (Rise), during which shots from a gas pistol were fired.

The Police said the pistol was seized and circumstances have been clarified and an investigation is underway.
