YEREVAN, November 17. /ARKA/. Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan has appointed today Sergey Minasyan as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Romania. Sergey Minasyan, who served as deputy director of the Yerevan-based Caucasus Institute, has replaced Hamlet Gasparyan, who served also as Armenia’s ambassador to Montenegro.

"I am glad that having been engaged in international relations for many years, particularly in studying European and Euro-Atlantic politics, I will represent Armenia in the country which is closest to the EU from the geographical point of view, as well as one of the most active NATO countries in the Black Sea region," Minasyan wrote on his Facebook page.

He noted that Romania is the first country with which Armenia established diplomatic relations in December 1991. -0--
