Sargsyan: Armenia interested in cooperation with Moldova
YEREVAN, November 9. /ARKA/. Welcoming today the Moldovan President Igor Dodon, who has arrived in Armenia on an official visit, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said this year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

"The visit is a good opportunity to analyze the work that has been done over these 25 years and to outline further prospects. I am confident that your visit will be an excellent incentive for the intensification of our relations. We are interested in close cooperation in all areas: political, economic, humanitarian. There are no restrictions on cooperation in either bilateral or multilateral formats,’ he was quoted as saying by his press office.

In turn, Dodon said that he attaches great importance to the visit, taking into account the common historical ties and interests, as well as interaction within the CIS.

"Over 25 years we have signed 15 agreements and 7 more are in the preparation stage," he said.

"We are interested in your experience within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union. I know that soon you are going to sign an agreement on cooperation with the EU. I think that such countries as Armenia and Moldova are doomed to have good relations with everyone, both in the West and in the East," said the President of Moldova.

Dodon also drew attention to the Armenian community in his country, saying that Armenians living in Moldova for several decades feel at home. -0-
