Samvel Karapetyan is creating a fundamentally new political force to combat Pashinyan's policies
YEREVAN, July 14. /ARКА/. Tashir Group President Samvel Karapetyan announced the beginning of the formation of his own political team to combat the anti-people policies of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"Our very first rally confirmed the authorities' main fear: our people are confident in their strength and will not be broken by repressions. I would like to once again thank the tens of thousands of my compatriots who showed civic courage on July 4 and to this day.
I am also sincerely grateful to everyone who has expressed their support to me. My message has been widely discussed these days, but, unfortunately, there have also been various interpretations that are out of touch with reality. I think I have expressed myself very clearly: we will create a fundamentally new political force," the Tashir Group president (who was arrested in Armenia on charges of calling for the seizure of power) said in a new statement.
Karapetyan expressed great respect for the political forces and figures who are still waging a real fight against the anti-people policies of Nikol Pashinyan's government.
"But we have our own vision of building a good future for Armenia. And we will go our own way, with our new team, without excluding domestic political cooperation with like-minded people. We will try to unite our people around fair and great goals. We will reject black and white and other artificial divisions that this government has imposed on society, dividing and weakening our country," he emphasized.
According to Karapetyan, even in various circles of the current regime there are real professionals who do not share the values of a narrow group, but still do not see the path that they would consider a way out of the current situation.
"The formation of our political team has begun. We will do it in our own way," the businessman said.
On the criminal prosecution of Samvel Karapetyan
The president of Tashir Group, Samvel Karapetyan, was arrested in Armenia on June 18 on charges of publicly calling for the seizure of power. This happened after Karapetyan, after a meeting with Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, stated that he had always been on the side of the Armenian Church and the Armenian people, and if politicians do not succeed, then “we are ready to participate in all this in our own way.”
