YEREVAN, July 15. /ARKA/. An Armenian pro-opposition activist Armen Grigoryan has reportedly died today in a courtroom.

Grigoryan fainted and fell from his chair during a preliminary court hearing on his case as his defense lawyer Ruben Melikyan was speaking. A video of the court session was spread by news websites.

Armen Grigoryan was arrested two months ago at the request of the National Security Service of Armenia. He was accused of publishing statements in social networks and media, humiliating the residents of Shirak and Ararat regions and questioning their national identity.

A criminal case was instituted on the grounds of Article 226 part 2 of the Armenian Criminal Code -incitement of national, racial or religious hatred, committed publicly or by means of mass media. -0-
